A lot of people today find that living off of their line of credit and consolidating credit card debt with their line of credit is a really easy thing to do - and it seems like a good move at the time. However, as the balance balloons or begins to near its limit, the reality that this can't go on forever - and that this may have gotten a little out of control - begin to set in.
If you find yourself struggling with your line of credit debt, and realize you need to do something about it, we can help you. We're a non-profit consumer credit and debt counselling service. One of our Credit and Debt Counsellors can help you get started right away with a plan to:
This might sound odd at first, but one of the first things you need to do to deal with your line of credit debt is to create a monthly spending plan for your money: a budget. We can help you do this – and here’s why this is so important. You probably need to free up some money to begin making meaningful progress at paying down your line of credit. If you are spending exactly what you earn – or maybe a bit more than you earn – then it’s going to be impossible to pay down the debt. By letting a budgeting expert help you put together a budget, you can find places here and there to optimize your spending so that at the end of the day, you will have actually freed up enough money to use to start paying down your debt.
After one of our Credit Counsellors helps you put together a solid budget and gives you some tips and guidance, you may feel that you can now tackle your debt on your own. If that’s the case, then that’s fantastic. However, a lot of people also like to explore other options that may be available to them to help them consolidate their debt and pay it off more quickly. Consolidation options can include a consolidation loan, debt settlement, Debt Management Program, Consumer Proposal, or other options.
To take a good look into all your options and see if there is anything that might be able to help you, give us a call and to speak with one of our Credit Counsellors. You can meet with one either in person at one of our offices or over the phone if that’s more convenient for you. They’ll help you put together a budget, explore all your options, and then help you create a plan to get out of debt and get your finances back on track as quickly as possible. Speaking with our Counsellors is always free, completely confidential, and non-judgmental. We’re simply here to help you. Give us a call at 1-855-232-4888.
